PLANT MANAGER:

Position: Plant Manager
Location: Kent, WA
Reports to: Vice President of Operations
FLSA Status: Salary, Exempt
General Scope: Plan, direct, and coordinate the work activities and resources necessary for manufacturing products in accordance with cost, quality, and quantity specifications.
JOB DUTIES:
• Develop Budgets and approve expenditures for supplies and materials ensuring that materials, labor and equipment are used efficiently to meet production targets.
• Review processing schedules and production orders to make decisions concerning inventory requirements, staffing requirements, work procedures, and duty assignments, considering budgetary limitations and time constraints.
• Maximize the use of personnel to ensure the production of quality products at the lowest cost.
• Assures the optimum production of each piece of equipment in terms of quantity and quality.
• Accurately document and analyze daily production line reports in a timely manner such as down time, shift reports, waste logs, and labor efficiency reports.
• Manage closely Quality Control, Warehousing, Production, and Sanitation Supervisors and Managers
• Manage Waste, Labor Costs, and efficiencies.
• Ensures the production areas in a high state of cleanliness and sanitation.
• Organizes, trains and coaches leads and other production personnel.
• Positively motivates team and supports company policies and goals fostering team spirit.
• Responsible for proactively maintaining a safe work environment.
• Maintain operations in compliance with SOP, GMP, FDA, and other product quality standards.
• Actively leads the plants cost reduction and continuous improvements via team or project assignment.
• Prepares and administers performance appraisals following approval by VP Operations and other levels of management as required.
• Prepares the necessary documentation and administers progressive disciplinary following approval of Human Resources.

Job Requirements:
• 3 years Plant Management experience with food production

QUALITY ASSURANCE MANAGER:

JOB DESCRIPTION
POSITION TITLE: Quality Assurance Manager
STATUS: Full-Time – Exempt
REPORTS TO: Director of Quality Assurance
LOCATION: Kent, WA
Responsibilities: Supervision of the Quality Control Department for the Cibo Naturals manufacturing plant in Seattle. Manage Quality programs and policies maintaining 100% Quality performance for the plant. Work together with production to ensure total quality combined with efficient operations.
Duties to include but not limited to the following:
• Inspection of equipment and facility.
• GMP audits of plant and surrounding area.
• Manage plant Sanitation department.
• Review and implementation of new or revised Quality procedures, policies or work instructions.
• Review of HACCP records and communication of issues to QA Director.
• Resolution of quality issues reported by QC Technicians or production personnel.
• Communication of quality issues or opportunities to QA Director.
• Communication with FDA and/or USDA inspectors regarding HACCP or GMP issues.
• Tracking of samples sent to outside laboratories.
• Training and evaluation of QC staff regarding their performance and needs by plant operations.
• Review and disposition of product on quality hold.
• Monitoring allergen labels and assuring that allergens are labeled and segregated in warehouse.

Requirements:
• B.S. Degree in Food Science preferred and 5 years experience in the areas of Quality Assurance or Quality Control Management

General Scope: The HR Assistant provides first-line support of the day-to-day operations and the administration of the human resources policies, procedures and programs for Seattle.
Responsibilities:
• Apply policies and procedures applicable to Human Resources; maintain records of all Federal and State regulatory laws relating to any human resources issue for the Seattle division of Monterey Gourmet Foods, Inc.
• Ensure compliance of all rules, policies, and procedures under the Monterey Gourmet Foods employee manual.
• Work directly with Production Supervisors in execution and recommendation of hiring, terminating, counseling, reviews and any HR issues.
• Assist with the Safety Supervisor in Salinas, regarding safety compliance.
• Manage Worker’s Compensation and L&I Claims.
• Administer and maintain benefits information for all Seattle employees.
• Maintains, and is responsible for, all Seattle employee files, forms, and personnel paperwork.
• Assist Production and other Supervisors with staffing levels and help with temporary employee’s attendance, orientation and timecards.
• Conduct internal investigations and recommend solutions.
• Review and help Plant Manager with compensation structure and pay rates for the plant.
• Coordinates employee recognition activities such as birthdays, and anniversaries.
• Facilitate meetings such as New Hire Orientation and Safety Committee.
Skills:
• Human Resources Compliance experience
• Knowledge of one or more basic generalist HR activities (ie: Employee relations, records and retention, benefit administration, HRIS processing, performance evaluations) sufficient to support production staff.
• 2-4 years experience in HR or related field/education
• Bi-Lingual Spanish/English
• Ability to use discretion with confidential data and sensitive information
• Ability to act independently and know when to refer situations to the higher level authority
